Ok, so the other day we decided to eat at China Jade, a traditional Chinese Food restaurant in Rockville/Derwood MD.
China Jade is located at the intersection of Shady Grove Rd, and Crabbs Branch Parkway, right at the border of Rockville and Derwood. Now, there are A LOT of places to Chinese Food in Rockville, and I’ll probably write about each one of them by the end of the year, but what I love about this restaurant is the “authenticity” of their food. Now, I know that what’s authentic to one person may not be authentic to another, but it’s authentic to me.
Ok, so this restaurant has at least 3 different menus.. one in Mandarin, and 2 in English. They serve traditional American/Chinese food, as well as Cantonese, and Szechuan style cuisines. If you have never tried Szechuan food before, please be careful, and ask for recommendations from the waiter/waitress there, as the cuisine is spicy, and numbing (I’m not making this stuff up, it actually says it on the restaurant’s menu).
So this time around, we ordered the Beef Tendon (spicy – picture on top of page), Gui Fei Chicken with Ginger Sauce (AMAZING!… at least for me it’s amazing), Sizzling Beef with Black Pepper Sauce (if you are a carnivore, you will definitely like this dish), and the Stir-Fried Fish Fillet with Vegetables (also good).
Regardless of how adventurous you are, you’ll find good food here… if you like deep fried bullfrogs, they got that too!
